This is the Interface & Power Cable for the CDR 900. This cable provides a connection between the CDR 900 and other accessory cables such as the D2M Legacy Cable Adapter, Direct to Modules cables and the OBD/DLC J1962 Cable. For direct to module imaging, this cable also switches 12V power on & off to the ECU being imaged.

This is the OBD (On-Board Diagnostic Data)/DLC (Data Link Connector) cable used in conjunction with the CDR 900. This cable plugs into a vehicle’s OBD connector and is used for imaging EDR data through a supported vehicle’s OBD/DLC connector.

You will need the existing CANplus Interface Module to image the current vehicle coverage list. You will need the CDR 900 Interface Module for most new model year vehicles and systems going forward AND any new auto manufacturers added.

In the future, Bosch will merge legacy vehicle coverage to the CDR 900. The timeframe for that is undetermined due to the complexity of migrating legacy data to a new platform. The Bosch CDR CANplus Module technology has been around for 17+ years with a hardware refresh occurring 12 years ago. The CDR 500 Adapter enables the CDR Tool to retrieve EDR data directly from ECUs with a FlexRay communications network. This advanced technology is much different than traditional CAN or K-Line networks currently supported by the CDR Tool.
The first application of the CDR 500 will be for select BMW and MINI vehicles. Next the CDR 500 will be required for direct-to-module EDR downloads on Audi and other vehicles.

CDR 500 Adapter: The CDR 500 can only be used in conjunction with the CDR Interface Module and the F00K108387 ACM Power Adapter. Power to the CDR 500 is supplied through the ACM Adapter and controlled by the CDR Tool software. Inputs/Outputs:

The CDR 500 interface cable is used to connect the F00K108387 ACM Power Adapter to the X1 port of the CDR 500. This cable carries the necessary signals between the CDR Interface Module and the CDR 500 Adapter.

You still need your current CDR Tool Kit to image legacy vehicles. Many of the vehicles currently listed in the CDR vehicle coverage list will still need to be imaged using the existing CDR CANplus interface module.
